LBC offers lots of different groups for children of all ages. It is our privilege to offer groups which allow young people to experience and encounter Jesus for themselves in a safe and fun environment. Recruitment All over-18s who are involved in leading or helping with the children’s and youth work at Lancaster Baptist Church have been checked by the Disclosure & Barring Service - DBS (formerly the Criminal Records Bureau – CRB). DBS Checks form part of our wider recruitment procedures, which apply to volunteers and paid workers alike. Through application forms, references, and informal interviews, we seek to ensure that adults are suitable to work with young people before they get involved. Policy
LBC has an agreed Safeguarding Policy, in line with the Baptist Union’s guidelines as set out in their publication Safe To Grow. As well as the church’s policy on safeguarding, this document also sets out procedures for reporting and responding to concerns, as well as best practice for all our workers. Every new worker receives a copy of the policy, and is required to commit to reading it and following its principles and procedures. Our shorter Policy Statement on Safeguarding can be found in church ,setting out the church’s commitment to safeguarding.
